Planning to study in Korea? Build a shortlist before a checklist
A useful study plan starts with the program you want to join. A generic document list cannot tell you whether a course fits your language level, budget or goals.
Start with the actual course
Find the university’s official program page and note the teaching language, qualification offered and application round. Keep links, not just screenshots: requirements can change. Study in Korea is an official starting point for researching institutions and study options.
Separate requirements from assumptions
Record the language evidence and academic documents requested by the institution. Do not assume that all courses require the same test or that all documents use the same format. Ask the admissions office about unclear wording before arranging translations or paying fees.
Plan an everyday budget
List tuition, housing, transport, food, communication and initial setup costs separately. Use current official or provider information and identify refundable deposits. This is a planning method, not a quoted cost estimate or an assurance of scholarship support.
Practise the questions you will need
어디에 제출해요? — Where do I submit it? 다시 설명해 주세요 — Please explain again. Prepare the specific question and include your course and application round when contacting an office. For visa and work-permission questions, use official guidance specific to your situation.
